Ghana:Energy Ministry reviews Petroleum Hub Development agenda

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has held a strategic engagement with the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) to review the Corporation’s performance in 2025 and align priorities for 2026 as part of its broader sector development agenda.

The engagement formed part of the Ministry’s strategic planning process and focused on assessing implementation progress, strengthening execution, and identifying new opportunities to enhance the Corporation’s impact across the energy value chain.

Discussions during the session highlighted the need to position PHDC to deliver greater value by accelerating key projects, improving operational effectiveness, and deepening collaboration with private sector partners.

The Ministry reaffirmed the central role of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation in Ghana’s energy investment drive, describing the Corporation as a critical catalyst for large-scale infrastructure development, private sector participation, and the country’s long-term energy security.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Ministry indicated that its priority will be to strengthen investor confidence and fast-track initiatives under the Petroleum Hub agenda that have the potential to transform Ghana’s energy landscape.

These efforts are expected to support job creation, expand industrial activity, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

The Petroleum Hub initiative remains a cornerstone of government efforts to position Ghana as a competitive downstream petroleum and petrochemicals hub in the West African sub-region.
