Serene Insurance LTD, a member of the First Sky Group and a leading general insurance company has announced its support package towards the participation of the national men’s football team, the Black Stars at the June 2026 FIFA World Cup mundial to come off in USA, Mexico and Canada between June 11 to July 19, 2026.

The package is made up of two million Ghana cedis (GHS2 million) in cash and GHS 20 million Ghana cedis aggregate limit Group Personal Accident Insurance cover for the period June 1, 2026 to July 31st 2026, with a Hundred Thousand Ghana cedis (GHS100, 000.00) cover for each member of the playing body, Thirty Thousand Ghana cedis (GHS30, 000.00) for each member of the technical team and Ten Thousand Ghana cedis cover (GHS10, 000.00) for each member of sponsored supporters (fans) for the period.

The 24-hour insurance policy covers bodily injury to or death of any of the insured categories resulting from an accident during the duration of the tournament.

The announcement was in response to Ghana’s fundraising campaign ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which was officially launched by President John Mahama at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra to raise Thirty Million US Dollars (US$30,000,000.00) to fund Ghana’s participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and four international friendly matches.

Commenting on the support for the Ghana’s participation at the FIFA 2026 World Cup Tournament, Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Mercy Naa Koshie Boampong observed that the Black Stars are the nation’s pride on the pitch and Serene Insurance was honoured to support with cash and insurance cover as a demonstration of its commitment in backing talents, securing futures and celebrating victories.

Mrs. Boampong reiterated that “this feat is a reflection of our belief in Ghana’s potential to securing a winning future for mother Ghana through investments in sports providing a major boost to the Black Stars’ preparations as the team gears up for the tournament.”

The launch of the US$30m World Cup fundraising campaign event brought together prominent stakeholders from the sports, entertainment and business sectors, including former Black Stars players, musicians and business leaders.

It was an opportunity to unveil a World Cup raffle draw promotion as a strategic revenue handle to support Ghana’s campaign, to raise the target amount to fund the team’s participation and also saw major financial pledges, from mining and entertainment giants alongside other individuals and corporate organisations.
