The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has launched a Women in Mining Students’ Chapter aimed at empowering students to excel in the mining sector.

The launch, held on Friday, March 28, 2026, was attended by stakeholders who praised the university, particularly the Department of Sustainable Minerals and Resource Development, for initiating the programme.

The chapter is expected to serve as a platform for students to gain mentorship from experienced professionals, build networks with peers and industry leaders, and acquire practical insights into the mining industry.

It will also provide opportunities for skill development and career guidance through workshops and training sessions, as well as leadership roles to help students build confidence and teamwork.

Students have been encouraged to actively participate in the chapter and take advantage of the opportunities it offers to support their personal and professional development within the mining sector.
