Souleymane Boly to lead Burkina Faso Chamber of Mines

The Chamber of Mines of Burkina Faso (CMB) has held its General Assembly in Ouagadougou, resulting in the election of a new executive bureau to steer the institution’s activities.
The meeting, held on April 30, 2026, brought together stakeholders from the national mining sector to discuss key industry challenges and reaffirm their commitment to strengthening the sector’s contribution to Burkina Faso’s economic and social development.
According to the Chamber, the assembly provided a platform for members to exchange views on strategic priorities and reinforce efforts toward responsible and sustainable mining practices.
At the close of proceedings, a new leadership team made up of 28 experienced professionals from across the sector was elected. The bureau is tasked with guiding the Chamber’s work, promoting reforms, and supporting value creation within the mining industry.

Souleymane Boly has been appointed president of the new bureau. Under his leadership, the team is expected to consolidate existing gains, support ongoing sector reforms, and encourage sustainable mining practices that benefit all stakeholders.

The Chamber reaffirmed its role as a strategic partner to the state, emphasizing its commitment to providing technical expertise and supporting national development efforts.
It also commended its members for their active participation and collective commitment to building a more inclusive, transparent, and competitive mining sector in Burkina Faso.
