Asante Gold Corporation has announced the appointment of seasoned mining executive Glenn Baldwin as its new Chief Development Officer (CDO) as the company seeks to strengthen operations and advance its growth strategy in Ghana.

In a statement issued over the weekend, Asante Gold  said Mr. Baldwin brings more than 30 years of international mining experience spanning enterprise development, operations, corporate strategy, business transformation, capital allocation, and operational turnarounds.

Before joining Asante Gold, Mr. Baldwin served as Head of Mining at BGN International, where he established a mining business to support the company’s expansion into critical minerals. He has also held chief executive roles at several mining companies, including Consolidated Minerals in Ghana and Yilmaden Holding, which operates across more than a dozen countries.

His previous experience includes senior leadership positions at Gold Fields, where he oversaw annual gold production of 1.7 million ounces across a global portfolio, as well as roles at Ivanhoe Nickel & Platinum, Anglo American, and Ma’aden Gold & Base Metals.

As Chief Development Officer, Mr. Baldwin will be based in Ghana and work closely with the company’s Chief Executive Officer and operational teams. His immediate focus will be on improving performance and driving operational turnaround efforts at Asante’s Bibiani and Chirano gold mines, with the goal of achieving consistent and reliable production.

He will also be responsible for advancing the Kubi Gold Project toward production and, over time, leading the company’s broader growth and development agenda.

Commenting on the appointment, Asante Executive Chairman Malik Easah said the company was pleased to welcome Mr. Baldwin at a critical stage of its growth.

“Our immediate priority is delivering consistent, reliable production from Bibiani and Chirano, and Glenn brings deep operational experience and a strong track record of leading mining turnarounds, including here in Ghana,” he said.

Asante Gold is a gold exploration, development and operating company with a portfolio of mining assets in Ghana. The company currently operates the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and is undertaking development studies on the Kubi Gold Project. It is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, the Ghana Stock Exchange, and the OTCQX market in the United States.
