GIZ-led project opens applications for women seeking careers in mining transport

Women in Ghana interested in pursuing careers in the mining and transport industry are being invited to apply for the Empowering Women in Mining Transport Project.

The initiative is designed to provide women with skills and experience to pursue career opportunities in Ghana’s mining transport and logistics sector.

The project is seeking applications from Ghanaian women aged between 24 and 40 who are residing in Ghana and can speak and write English.

Applicants are also expected to demonstrate an interest in building a career in transport, logistics or mining and must be able to pass a driving aptitude assessment.

Applications are open until September 25, 2026. Interested applicants are required to scan the QR code provided on the project’s application flyer to access the application process and detailed eligibility requirements.

The project is being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through the develoPPP programme on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

GIZ is implementing the initiative in partnership with Scania West Africa, Reach for Change and Women in Mining Ghana.

The project seeks to support greater participation of women in the mining transport sector by equipping participants with relevant skills and experience for employment and career development.

The organisers are encouraging eligible women with an interest in transport, logistics and mining to take advantage of the opportunity before the application deadline.
