Stanbic Bank Ghana has unveiled a Solar and Electric Vehicle (EV) Financing Solution aimed at expanding access to renewable energy and sustainable mobility for individuals, businesses and corporate institutions.

The solution was introduced at a stakeholder engagement session held under the bank’s “Be Powered” campaign, which brought together industry players, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, partners and clients to explore the role of innovative financing in Ghana’s transition to cleaner energy.

Under the initiative, existing and prospective Stanbic Bank clients can access up to 100% financing for solar energy systems, electric vehicles and other sustainability-related investments.

The financing is designed to reduce the upfront capital requirements that can make it difficult for individuals and businesses to invest in renewable energy systems and electric mobility.

Speaking at the event, Dinah Kaleo-Bioh, Head of Business & Commercial Banking at Stanbic Bank Ghana, said renewable energy and sustainable mobility were important to economic resilience and long-term development.

She reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to sustainable growth and highlighted initiatives including Blue Roots, Blue Drives Green and the Stanbic Sustainability Academy, which focus on environmental stewardship, education and capacity building.

Chidinma Braye-Yankee, Head of Brand and Marketing, said the Be Powered initiative goes beyond an awareness campaign, describing it as an effort to improve access to sustainable solutions and build partnerships that can support Ghana’s transition towards a low-carbon economy.

She said the initiative was also intended to help clients make informed decisions about cleaner and more sustainable energy options.

Wendy Nelly Sarpong, Head of Vehicle and Asset Finance, said the financing solution had been designed with flexibility to meet the different needs of customers seeking to acquire solar energy systems and electric vehicles.

She said the offering provides financing options intended to make the acquisition of the technologies more affordable for customers.

Stanbic Bank said individuals, entrepreneurs and organisations interested in the solution can visit any of its branches nationwide or engage their Relationship Managers for further information on the available financing options.

The bank said the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to support sustainable development and increase access to cleaner energy and mobility solutions.
