Asante Gold Corporation has appointed Campbell Baird as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately, as part of a leadership transition to support the company’s next phase of operational growth.
Baird brings over 30 years of international experience in mining operations, technical leadership, and project execution across Africa, Australia, and North America.
He will focus on strengthening operational execution, improving production efficiencies, and driving operational excellence at Asante’s Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines.
Executive Chairman Malik Easah said Baird’s appointment strengthens the company’s operational leadership at a critical time, while CEO Kenneth Ashigbey emphasized that the move aligns Asante with global best practices. The programme will be supported by advisors Michele Muscillo and Kevin Tomlinson, who bring extensive expertise in corporate governance, capital markets, M&A, and mining operations.
The company also announced that Dave Anthony, President and CEO, will retire on May 15, 2026, after leading Asante through its transition into a producing gold company and securing more than US$500 million in development capital. Anthony will continue to serve in an advisory capacity to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
Additionally, Dr. Roger Norwich retired as a director on March 10, 2026, after contributing to multiple committees and supporting Asante’s growth during a period of significant development.
Asante Gold operates the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues exploration at the Kubi, Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects, all located within Ghana’s prolific gold belts. The company is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, Ghana Stock Exchange, and OTCQX Best Market.
