The Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC), Metalloid Resources Investment LLC-SPC (Metalloid), and Ghana Integrated Bauxite Development Limited Company (GIBDLC), a special purpose vehicle of GIADEC, have announced the execution of a US$60 million facility agreement to advance mining activities at Nyinahin in the Ashanti Region.

The strategic partnership forms part of GIADEC’s broader initiative to develop Ghana’s aluminium industry, with a focus on the exploration and commercialisation of the country’s estimated 920 million tonnes of bauxite reserves.

The funds will be invested in mining activities relating to Hills 1–3, with operations expected to be scaled up progressively to increase production volumes.

The facility will support the development of a bauxite mine at the Nyinahin Concession, in line with GIADEC’s vision of building an integrated aluminium industry.

The project is expected to create more than 1,500 jobs, enhance local value addition, and make a significant contribution to Ghana’s economic growth.

“This partnership marks a crucial step towards realising Ghana’s industrialisation ambitions,” said Reindorf Twumasi Ankrah, Chief Executive Officer of GIADEC.

Commenting on the agreement, Ali Bin Jerais, Chief Executive Officer of Metalloid, described the facility as a strong vote of confidence in Ghana’s aluminium sector.

“This facility represents a strong vote of confidence in Ghana’s long-term aluminium vision and in the Nyinahin bauxite concession as a globally competitive resource.

Metalloid is proud to partner with GIADEC and GIBDLC to unlock sustainable value from Ghana’s bauxite reserves through disciplined investment, phased development, and international best-practice mining standards.

Beyond production growth, this project is about building local capability, creating meaningful employment, and laying the foundations for a fully integrated aluminium value chain that delivers enduring economic impact for Ghana,” he said.
