Government has extended its fuel price intervention, announcing a revised subsidy of GH¢1.07 per litre on diesel effective May 16, 2026.
The decision followed a Cabinet meeting chaired by President John Dramani Mahama to review global oil market developments and their impact on local fuel prices.
The previous one-month relief package, introduced on April 16, saw government absorb GH¢2.00 per litre on diesel and GH¢0.36 on petrol, ending on May 15.
According to the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, the new intervention will run for two pricing windows and aims to cushion consumers while ensuring stable fuel supply amid global price volatility.
