Gold Fields trains over 570 youths from Tarkwa communities to boost employment readiness

Gold Fields has taken a significant step in empowering young people in the host communities of its Tarkwa mine by training over 570 youths to prepare them for future employment opportunities.
The training programme was organised by the company’s Community Relations and People (HR) departments, in collaboration with the Community Employment Committee.
It aimed to equip participants with practical skills, workplace knowledge, and confidence needed to thrive in professional environments.

Key training sessions included guidance on CV preparation and job applications, interview etiquette, awareness on alcohol and drug abuse, and general onboarding procedures.
In addition to technical skills, the programme highlighted responsible workplace conduct and the importance of security screening, giving participants a realistic understanding of workplace expectations.

Gold Fields emphasised that this initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to building capacity, strengthening community partnerships, and creating enduring value beyond its mining operations.
