Gold Fields recorded zero fatalities across all its operations in 2025, marking what the company describes as a significant safety milestone.

Speaking during a media roundtable on the company’s full-year results, Chief Executive Officer Mike Fraser said the achievement reflects the company’s strong focus on safe delivery across its global portfolio.

“First and foremost, we were able to deliver a safe year. There were no fatalities across any of our operations at Gold Fields,” Mr. Fraser stated.

He noted, however, that seven serious injuries were recorded during the year, underscoring the need for continued vigilance and sustained investment in safety systems and culture.

The zero-fatality record formed part of what the CEO described as a “very strong set of results” for the year, with production increasing by 18 percent year-on-year to 2.438 million ounces, driven in part by improved operational performance and the successful ramp-up of projects in Chile.

While highlighting operational and financial gains, Mr. Fraser emphasised that safety remains a core priority for the company, alongside production growth and shareholder returns.

Gold Fields operates nine mines across Australia, Ghana, Peru, Chile and South Africa, and has one project in Canada. In Ghana, the company holds 90% interests in the Tarkwa and Damang mines.
