The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has issued a public notice on the Scoping Report and Draft Terms of Reference for the proposed Nyinahin Block A Bauxite Mining Project by the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC).

The proposed project is located at Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.

According to the notice dated February 12, 2026, the EPA has received the Scoping Report and Draft Terms of Reference in line with Regulations 15(3a), (3b) and (3c) of the Environmental Protection (Environmental Assessment) Regulations, 2025 (LI 2504), and Ghana’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures.

The Authority has therefore issued the public notification to inform stakeholders and invite comments on the proposed undertaking.

Copies of the Scoping Report and Draft Terms of Reference are available for review at the EPA Head Office Library in Accra, the EPA Ashanti Regional Office in Kumasi, the Atwima Mponua District Assembly in Nyinahin, and on the EPA website.

The EPA is inviting any person with an interest, concerns, or relevant knowledge regarding the potential environmental effects of the proposed project to submit written comments within 21 days from the date of publication of the notice.

Comments may be addressed to the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the EPA in Accra, the EPA Regional Director for the Ashanti Region in Kumasi, or the Senior Manager, External Affairs and Sustainability at GIADEC. Submissions may also be sent via email to mining.dept@epa.gov.gh.

The public notice forms part of the environmental assessment process aimed at ensuring responsible development and stakeholder engagement as Ghana advances its integrated aluminium industry.
