The Responsible Cooperative Mining & Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) has extended its comprehensive training programme for small-scale miners to Bunso in the Eastern Region as part of efforts to formalize and strengthen Ghana’s small-scale mining sector.

The programme is aimed at equipping miners with the knowledge, skills, and best practices needed to undertake responsible, safe, and environmentally sustainable mining operations.

Participants are receiving training on regulatory compliance, occupational health and safety, environmental stewardship, and modern mining techniques designed to improve productivity while minimizing environmental impact.

According to rCOMSDEP, the initiative seeks to promote responsible mining practices, enhance livelihoods, and support the development of a more structured and accountable small-scale mining industry in Ghana.

The programme is also expected to improve miners’ understanding of industry regulations and encourage practices that protect communities, water bodies, forests, and other natural resources.

The training forms part of rCOMSDEP’s ongoing efforts to build capacity within the small-scale mining sector and support sustainable mining practices across the country.
