Resolute cuts Syama 2026 gold production guidance amid Mali challenges

Resolute Mining Limited has lowered its 2026 production guidance for the Syama Gold Mine in Mali, citing continued operational and supply chain challenges. Resolute Mining Limited has lowered its 2026 production guidance for the Syama Gold Mine in Mali, citing continued operational and supply chain challenges.

The company now expects Syama to produce between 150,000 and 160,000 ounces of gold in 2026, compared with its previous guidance, while all-in sustaining costs (AISC) are forecast at US$2,300–US$2,400 per ounce.

Resolute said challenges affecting underground mining, open-pit mining and sulphide processing have reduced ore availability, delayed access to higher-grade ore sources and affected plant throughput and recovery.

The company said supply chain disruptions and delays in the movement and importation of critical mining inputs particularly affected production in July and August.

Syama produced 15,500 ounces of gold during the two months, which Resolute said was significantly below previous expectations. It expects September production to be approximately 15,000 ounces, resulting in estimated third-quarter production of about 31,000 ounces.

For the fourth quarter, Resolute expects production to increase to between 45,000 and 50,000 ounces if the improvement recorded in September continues.

The company said intermittent explosive supplies during the wet season have constrained underground development and production from new draw points. Open-pit mining at the A21 pit has also progressed below planned rates, delaying access to higher-grade ore.

Resolute said it is constructing an on-site emulsion plant to address explosive supply disruptions, with commissioning planned for November 2026.

The company has also begun transitioning to a new open-pit mining contractor and is accelerating the mobilisation of additional equipment to improve mining productivity and equipment availability.

Resolute has revised its full-year group production guidance to between 205,000 and 225,000 ounces of gold, with Group AISC forecast at US$2,250–US$2,350 per ounce.

The company said its Mako operation in Senegal remains on track to produce 55,000–65,000 ounces at an AISC of US$1,600–US$1,800 per ounce.

Construction of the Doropo Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire also remains on schedule and on budget, according to Resolute.

The company said operational performance at Syama has been improving since July, but sustained recovery will depend on greater certainty in the movement and availability of mining consumables, equipment and contractor resources in Mali.
