Adamus Resources denies security officer killed suspected illegal miner

Adamus Resources Limited has denied allegations linking the company or its security personnel to the fatal shooting of an individual reportedly involved in illegal mining activities within the company’s concession area at Salman in the Nzema East District.
In a statement issued on June 16, 2026, the company described the claims as false and unsupported by available facts, stressing that its security personnel do not carry firearms in the course of their duties.
According to Adamus Resources, preliminary information indicates that the incident occurred after suspected illegal miners were spotted within the concession area. The company said reports suggest the individuals fled upon noticing a patrol team from the Natural Resources Management and Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS), during which one person allegedly sustained fatal injuries.
The company maintained that there is currently no credible evidence linking Adamus Resources or any of its security officers to the shooting.
Adamus Resources called on the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and pledged its full cooperation with authorities.
The company also urged the media and the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could prejudice investigations or cause unnecessary public concern.
While extending condolences to the family of the deceased, Adamus Resources reiterated its commitment to lawful mining operations and efforts to combat illegal mining in collaboration with state institutions.
