The Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) has highlighted financial sustainability and infrastructure optimisation as key priorities for strengthening Ghana’s gas value chain.
The company made the case during the two-day PIAC Technical Consultative Workshop 2026, held in Accra from September 23 to 24 under the theme, “Building a Resilient Gas Economy: Collaborative Strategies for Financial Equilibrium and Efficient Gas Value Chain.”
The workshop brought together stakeholders across Ghana’s petroleum and gas sector to examine financial and operational challenges affecting the development of the gas industry.
Speaking at the opening session, General Manager of Commercial Operations at Ghana Gas, Stephen Jomo, stressed the importance of collaboration among industry stakeholders in addressing challenges across the gas value chain and improving its financial sustainability.
General Manager of Engineering and Maintenance, Maxwell Kwame Kally, highlighted the need to optimise Ghana’s existing gas infrastructure while preparing the sector for future integration and expansion.
He said effective utilisation and maintenance of existing infrastructure would be important to supporting the growth and resilience of the gas sector.
Senior Manager of Commercial Operations, Sylvester Enumi Cudjoe, participated in a panel discussion on the Cash Waterfall Mechanism and the Energy Debt Cycle, contributing to discussions on the financial challenges affecting the gas value chain.
The workshop ended with calls for continued collaboration among industry players, regulators, government, academia and civil society to address challenges and support the development of Ghana’s gas resources.
