The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has appointed Ing. Frank Asirifi Otchere as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 8, 2026.

In a statement signed by Board Chairperson Kuukua Maurice Ankrah, Ing. Samuel Nkansah was also named Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Finance and Resources, while Ing. Samed Abdul Ibrahim, Director of the Project Implementation Unit, has been appointed Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Engineering and Operations.

Ing. Otchere takes over leadership of GRIDCo, which is responsible for electricity transmission across Ghana and within the West African power pool.

The company has called on staff to support the new leadership as it works to improve operational efficiency and strengthen the national grid.

The leadership changes come as GRIDCo continues efforts to stabilise power transmission following recent system disruptions, including a fire incident at the Akosombo switchyard control room that affected parts of the national electricity network.
