Lands Minister sets up committee to review Adamus Mining lease revocation

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has inaugurated a committee to review a petition by Adamus Resources Limited following the revocation of its mining leases for Nkroful, Akango and Salman.
The independent Petition Review Committee, chaired by Prof Jerry Samuel Yaw Kuma, has been tasked to establish the full facts surrounding the matter and submit its findings and recommendations within three weeks.
The move follows a petition submitted by Adamus Resources last week, challenging the government’s decision to revoke the leases.
In a parallel step, the Minister also inaugurated an Interim Management Committee, chaired by Mrs. Mawufemor Otsyina, to oversee operations at the affected mines while the review process is underway.
According to Mr. Buah, the interim body is expected to ensure operational continuity, maintain stability, and protect jobs during the review period.
He expressed confidence that both committees will carry out their mandates with integrity and diligence, emphasizing the government’s commitment to safeguarding the national interest while ensuring a fair and transparent process.
